Open Monumentendag 2024
The Open Monumentendag is part of an international organisation, the European Heritage Days. During Open Monumentendag- on 7 and 8 September 2024, thousands of historical buildings and sites in the Netherlands will open their doors. In the Eindhoven region, too, there are plenty of monuments to visit. In various places, extra activities such as exhibitions, guided tours, cycling routes, walks and musical performances will be organised during the open monument days. This year's theme is Heritage of routes, networks and connections. Will you come and take a look?

Theme 2024
Open Monument Day is part of the European Heritage Days (EHD), which establish a theme each year. For 2024, the theme is “Heritage of Routes, Networks, and Connections.” This theme emphasizes how people and societies have always been on the move, both in times of peace and war, for pilgrimages, trade, and exploration. Over the centuries, routes and (trade) networks have emerged, roads have been built, transport networks expanded, and new means of transportation and communication methods invented. These routes, networks, and connections continue to develop and form a crossroads between the past, present, and future.
